Armenian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan said that the ministry plans to hold a big conference in March 2011, during which the program for construction of a new power generating unit of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) will be presented to all stakeholders, specifically, investors.
The program will include all indices – technical and economic, Movsisyan told a press conference in Yerevan.
“Many countries, companies and individuals have displayed interest. A conference will be held in March 2011 to make the right choice. I assure you that the current economic-legal field of Armenia has resulted in such a great interest,” he said.
Movsisyan reported that Russia has offered to completely finance and construct the entire reactor island, based on the conducted study, while Russian reactors are considered to be the best currently.
