Levon Aronian gains 1 point at Wijk-aan-Zee tournament

Tying his games vs. Magnus Carlsen of Norway and Hikaru Nakamura of the U.S., Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian gained 1 point at the Corus chess tournament in Wijk-aan-Zee, Netherlands.

Aronian is currently 5th.Viswanathan Anand (India), Hikaru Nakamura, Yan Nepomnyaschiy (Russia) and Jan Smeets (Netherlands) have 1.5 points each.

In round 3, Aronian will play vs. Maxime Vachier-Lagrave of France.

In tournament B, Armenia's Gabriel Sarkissian defeated Shekhar Ganguly (India) and tied a game with Wesley So (Philippines) to rival David Navara (Czech Republic) in the next round.
