On January 17, Tigran Petrossian chess house in Yerevan hosted a drawing for the 71st Armenian Chess Championship due January 18 through January 30.
Championship prize fund is AMD 1,200 mln, AMD 800 and 500 thousand for winners of 1-3rd places. 1-5 places winners will qualify for Europe Championship; 6-8 places winners will gain entrance to Aeroflot Open.
12 grandmasters will gather for the 1st round, paired as follows: Avetik Grigoryan – Tigran Petrosyan, Robert Hovhannesyan – Tigran Kotanjyan, Arman Pashikyan – Artashes Minasyan, Zaven Andriasyan – Ara Minasyan, Hrant Melkumyan – David Petrosyan, Samvel Ter-Sahakyan – Ashot Anastasyan.
