Flour market in focus, SCPEC assures

The prices for bread increased by AMD 10-20 in some shops in Armenia due to the rise in prices for flour.

As chief advisor of the State Commission for Protection of Economic Competition of Armenia (SCPEC) Aram Sahakyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, the SCPEC fixed the rise in prices for flour on January 21.

“Manana Grain and Alex Grig companies which cover 80% of Armenian flour market raised the prices for flour by AMD 8 per kg. It’s a 3% rise according to the same period in 2009,” he said.

Sahakyan added that the flour market will be in the focus of the Commission.

“Certain measures will be undertaken should ungrounded rise in prices be revealed,” he said.
