Armenian and Azeri presidents have not realized their opportunity in Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement. As reported by vice-chairman of Diplomats’ Association of Russia, the Russian president’s ex-special representative on Karabakh settlement, ambassador Vladimir Kazimirov to “Mediamax” agency. In his words, the parties will have hardship in achieving consent unless “realism prevails over irrational maximalism in both camps”. The leaders should honestly tell their people that for the achievement of stable peace they have to be ready for painful concessions, Kazimirov supposes. The diplomat considers the concentration of all responsibility for the conflict settlement on the state first figures not to be the very successful factor. In his words they are elected people. “In the result, both nations become hostages of electoral campaigns which suspend talks for long time and generate tension with false patriotism,”- the Russian diplomat emphasized.
