YEREVAN, April 25. /Mediamax/. “In his statement addressed to the American Armenians U.S. President resorted to the use of evasive and euphemistic terminology to obscure the reality of Turkey’s Genocide against the Armenian people”.
Mediamax was informed today in the headquarters of Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) that this was said in the special statement of ANCA.
It is also said in the statement that Bush’s position on this grave issue runs counter to the expectations of the American people and more than 100 U.S. Congressmen that have a signed a letter addressed to Bush about the necessity to classify the 1915 events as “genocide”.
“The President’s statement today represents a continuation of the Clinton Administration’s policy of complicity in the Turkish Government’s policy to deny the Armenian Genocide,” the ANCA statement says. –0–
