MICHIGAN HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES PASSES ARMENIAN GENOCIDE RESOLUTION

YEREVAN, April 23. /Mediamax/. The Michigan House of Representatives passed a resolution designating April 24 “Day of Remembrance of the Armenian Genocide of 1915-1923,” Mediamax was informed today by the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA).
Member of House of Representatives Marc Shulmann stated: “Our nation and state should not ignore the Armenian Genocide at the hands of the Ottoman Empire. We wish to be on record as recognizing the Armenian Genocide of 1.5 million Armenians from 1915 to 1923 and also to pay tribute to the survivors.”
Other 4 states have declared April 24th as “Day of Remembrance of the Armenian Genocide” this year. Such decisions were adopted by California and Maryland states in March. In April governors of Arkansas and Minnesota adopted declaration on recognizing April 24th as “Day of Remembrance of the Armenian Genocide.” –0–
