17% growth was recorded in import of cars in Armenia in 2010, bringing it to 20,297 against 17,296 cars in 2009. The customs fees amounted to AMD 23.175bln.
According to the RA State Revenue Committee, decrease was recorded in import of cars from Russia – 1,825 cars in 2010 against 2,269 cars in 2009. The customs fees totaled around AMD 1.2bln in 2010 against AMD 1.49bln in 2009.
Mostly, cars the price of which is up to $5,000, were imported in 2010 – 9,125 against 5,680 cars in 2009. The cost of 6,464 cars fluctuated from $5-10thous, while the number of cars within this value totaled 6,255 in 2009; the number of cars in the value of $10-15thous. and $15-30thous. totaled 1,704 and 1,837 in 2010 against 2,120and 2,198 in 2009 respectively.
Meanwhile, the number of cars in the value of over $30thous totaled 1,167 in 2010 against 1,043 in 2009.
