HIDDEN COMPETITION BETWEEN USA, RUSSIA AND EUROPE HINDERS ESTABLISHMENT OF STABILITY IN CAUCASUS, IRAN THINKS

YEREVAN, April 5. /Mediamax/. “From the viewpoint of America, any settlement of Karabakh conflict must further the increase of U.S. predominance in Caucasus,” says the editorial comment of the “Voice of Iranian Islamic Republic” radio station, which reflects the position of official Tehran.
“Russia is the opponent of this policy. It considers the Caucasus as the part of its security sphere. The European countries included in the OSCE Minsk Group which have their own interests in Caucasus are also against it. Though the negotiations in Florida are held on the initiative of the USA and in the presence of Russian and French representatives, the hidden competition between the USA, Europe and Russia hinders the establishment of security in this region,” is said in the comment. –0–
