On March 1, the Office of RA Ombudsman and Bureau of Motor Vehicle Insurers signed an agreement on cooperation to increase efficiency of the two structures activity for protection of the rights of persons hurt in car accidents.
On March 16, RA Financial Ombudsman Piruz Sargsyan told a press conference in Yerevan that the agreement is aimed at exchanging information, what will allow revealing the existing problems, raising citizens' awareness, as well as protecting the rights of the injured people.
According to Sargsyan, the Office of RA Financial Ombudsman has received 29 complaints since the beginning of 2011, while only two of them were in a written form, what is an evidence of high responsibility of insurance companies towards fulfillment of their obligations.
Executive Director of Bureau of Motor Vehicle Insurers of Armenia Vahan Avetisyan attached importance to the cooperation, saying that the "signed agreement will provide with the opportunity to gain information on implementation of the norms developed by the Bureau, as well as reveal shortages and violations in mandatory vehicle insurance."
