I have arrived in Yerevan on the invitation of chief of the Armenian police Hayk Harutyunian and my visit is by no means connected with the coming parliamentary election in your country. Russian minister of internal affairs Boris Gryzlov, who arrived in the Armenian capital on a working visit, told journalists yesterday. In his turn Hayk Harutyunian specified the Russian minister’s visit to Yerevan and the coming singing of a document on deepening bilateral cooperation were also due to the recent reorganization of the Armenian ministry of internal affairs into the Armenian police. Boris Gryzlov also noted that during the two-day visit the course of implementation of “important joint agreements on interaction of law-enforcement bodies of the two countries” would be discussed. At the same time he reminded a sitting of the joint board of law-enforcement bodies of the two countries devoted to joint struggle against organized crime and international terrorism was scheduled in Moscow June 17-18. It should be noted that yesterday the Russian minister also met with Armenian president Robert Kocharian.
