YEREVAN, March 30. /Mediamax/. “Despite the difference of positions of Yerevan and Tbilisi on the regional level, the development of bilateral relations will help them to become “mediators” for each other in some issues. Some experts believe that taking into account the warm relations of Yerevan and Moscow, the strengthening of Armenian-Georgian ties may help to soften the too pro-western orientation of Tbilisi.” This was told in the editorial comment of Voice of Islamic Republic of Iran radio station which usually reflects the position of official Tehran.
“Tbilisi tries to get more weight in the region, seeks for cooperation with foreign military bodies, particularly with NATO. Yerevan considers the cooperation with Russia to be the top of its foreign policy programs and, while accomplishing its commitments of cooperation with collective security bodies in the frames of CIS, in contradiction with pro-western trends of Georgia and Azerbaijan, tries to establish a certain military-political balance in Caucasus,” the Iranian radio station notes. –0–
