According to the results of a poll held by the Armenian Sociological Association on the threshold of the election of the National Assembly of Armenia, “Justice” Bloc and “Orinats Yerkir” party have the highest rating. As president of the Association Gevorg Poghosian told journalists, the votes in favor of these two participants of the election fluctuate within the limits of 11-12%. “National Unity” organization and the Republican Party of Armenia with 8-9% of votes each and Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun possessing 6-7% follow them. Among the parties having chance to get seats in the parliament, the sociologist also pointed out “Powerful Fatherland” and “Dignity, Democracy, Fatherland” bloc. In his opinion, all the contender parties will resort to various electoral struggle means which may also result in rating changes. According to Poghosian’s observations, neither force to date can win parliamentary majority being provided by the proportional electoral system. It should be noted that the Armenian parliamentary election is planned May 25.
