Computer center opens in Katnaghbyur village of Armenia

A modern computer center furnished with broadband Internet was opened in Katnaghbyur village of Aragatsotn region with joint efforts of Orange Armenia, Shen charity organization and USAID/CHF.

According to Orange Armenia press office, the newly opened computer center of the village with 1630 inhabitants is equipped with 7 computers, printer/scanner, Orange Flybox 3G router and comfortable furniture, which will provide possibility to the residents of Katnaghbyur to participate in computer courses. For implementation of this project Orange has allotted total AMD 2,348,000.

Bruno Duthoit, Orange Armenia CEO said: “Modern technologies develop with an incredible speed, and their usage in the everyday life allows not only to make easy people’s life, make distances shorter, but also stimulate social, cultural, scientific development, make people be always informed. We are a telecommunication company, and the objective and the mission of our job is to bring the modern communication means to everyone”.

During 2010, six computer rooms have been esyablished in different regions of Armenia, which all together register more than 2000 visits per month.
