Former EBU middleweight champ Khoren Gevor steps in on short notice to replace the injured Dimitri Sartison as the opponent for WBO super middleweight titleholder Robert Stieglitz.
Gevor, a loser to Sartison in his last time out, was in full in training in Amsterdam for a WBA eliminator at middleweight against Matthew Macklin on April 16 – a fight which went up in smoke when Macklin pulled out. Gevor has now accepted an offer to take the Stieglitz shot on April 9 in Magdeburg at super middleweight.
Gevor, 31-5, again steps up to super middle and is certainly up against a tough task but he's still a good challenger for Stieglitz, 39-2, BoxingScene reports.
