Armenia’s economy unpredictable, MP says

Member of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun parliamentary group Ara Nranyan said that Armenia needs to completely revise its economic policy.

According to him, changes in the economic policy towards one separate field cannot result in success. Nranyan noted that there is not any economic development in Armenia, while growth in the mining field is conditioned by increase in global prices for metals.

Nranyan also said that the most important thing in economy is predictability, while Armenia lacks it.

The Armenian parliament member believes that the only progress is in the fact that the government also started speaking about the existing problems, “while the main difference between the government and opposition is resolution of problems.”

Nranyan noted that the recent indices of the Armenian National Statistical Services about a zero-growth compared to 2010 indices indicate that even if the budget is fulfilled, 16-20% drop will be recorded in GDP in 2011 in dollar terms.
