On April 24, 9:00 a.m. Yerevan time, a commemorative liturgy will be served at the Genocide Monument, followed by a Holy Easter mass at Etchmiadzin.
As Rev. Fr. Shahe Ananian told a news conference, in the evening of April 24, a mass for the innocent victims of the Genocide will be served in all Armenian churches. “Holy mass is not only a commemoration of innocent victims but also a celebration of the immortality of a soul,” he said. Religion forbids resurrection mass during a holiday.
According to religious precepts, Holy Easter celebration cannot be delayed, always being marked on the Sunday following a new moon.
