Commenting on the second tie vs. Levon Aronian of Armenia at Candidates Matches 2011 ¼ finals, Russian grandmaster Alexander Grischuk admitted to having had a positional advantage.
“However, later in the game, Aronian, who played with black pieces gained development advantage, thus equalizing our positions,” sovsport.ru quoted Grischuk as saying.
Armenian grandmaster, in turn, noted “I’m happy we finished the set fast to have enough time to get ready for the next one.”
Aronian and Grischuk ended the first 2 sets of ¼ finals in a tie, with their next match due May 7.
