MEMORIAL TO THE VICTIMS OF ARMENIAN GENOCIDE TO BE OPENED IN PARIS

30.01.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The authorities in Paris have voted to erect a memorial to the genocide of Armenians under the Ottoman Empire.
As BBC reports, the mayor of Paris, Jean Tiberi, said the memorial would take the form of a statue of the Armenian priest and composer, Komitas, who survived the massacres and died in France in 1935. He said it would be erected next year.. -0–
