16.01.2001, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The meeting of Armenian and Georgian commissions on delimitation of the Armenian-Georgian border began today in Tbilisi in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
The meeting is to resolve the issue of uncoordinated border sections between the two states. As the ambassador for extraordinary missions of the Georgian Foreign Ministry Avtandil Napetvaridze told Prime News, official Tbilisi welcomes the beginning of talks with Armenia on this matter.
Georgian Foreign Ministry informed that the works on delimitation must be started once again and the 206km-section of the Georgian-Armenian border is to be studied thoroughly from that position. The Foreign Ministry of Georgia noted that the Armenian side has been working comparatively at a slow pace in this direction for the last years and the commissions set up in Tbilisi and Yerevan for delimitation still haven’t begun their practice work. -0-
