The director of Khosrov Woods national park Vorontsov Barseghyan stated that monastery complexes Avuts Tar (9th century), Akhchots Church (8th century) and Kavaberd fortress (9th century) located on the national park territory are registered with the national park rather that the Armenian Apostolic Church, which entitles the park authorities to collect payments for the visit. An entrance fee to Khosrov Woods is AMD 3500.
On May 30, Know Your Country youth initiative expressed a protest against collection of payment from visitors of ancient historic buildings. The members of the initiative urged All Armenian Catholicos Karekin II, Armenian Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan and Nature Protection Minister Aram Harutyunyan to take steps to provide free entrance to sacred places.
