ARMENIA INTENDS TO JOIN “NORTH-SOUTH” INTERNATIONAL TRANSPORT CORRIDOR

Russia suggests creating an international consortium on development of “North-South” International Transport Corridor. In the words of deputy minister of transport of Russia Chingiz Izmailov, as reported by “Arminfo” agency, Russian ministry of transport arranged such an initiative in Teheran at the second sitting of the Coordination Council on the development of the corridor in late April. Izmailov noted the foundation of the consortium aimed at attraction of investments for developing the corridor infrastructure. Specifically, in his words, bank structures, ports and companies interested in the corridor development can become part of the consortium. The deputy minister noted Belarus and Kazakhstan joined the agreement on the International Transport Corridor at the Coordination Council sitting in Teheran. Representatives of Syria, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Bulgaria announced they had the same intentions. Let us note that the agreement on the corridor was signed between Russia, Iran and India.
