An international conference on the Armenian Issue (Hay Dat) opened for the first time in Yerevan today. Over 100 delegates from 20 countries of the world, specifically, Russia, US, France, Latin American and Middle Eastern countries, Iran, Georgia, Cyprus and Greece participate in it. Representatives of the largest Hay Dat organizations – the Armenian National Committee of America, “Russian-Armenian Union” and “European-Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy,” whose activities are not limited to the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Turkey, but also comprise issues referring to the settlement of the Karabakh problem, as well as arrangement of relations between Armenia and countries of the world, – also arrived in Yerevan. As Armenian foreign minister V. Oskanian stated at the conference opening, “the situation in our region becomes more complicated and we feel the need for coordinated and joint work from year to year.” The following statements at the opening of the conference noted that all-Armenian issues should be solved daily and hourly – proceeding from the state interests of Armenia. “It is the dictate of the time, as our statehood is a symbol for all Armenians of the world, and the Hay Dat issue is among the crucial ones,” – Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun member Karo Armenian stated.
