David Nalbandian drops out of Legg Mason Tennis Classic

U.S. veteran James Blake upset defending champion David Nalbandian, 6-2, 6-4, on Tuesday, August 2 to reach the third round of the Legg Mason Tennis Classic at Washington.

His victory over the eighth-seeded Nalbandian, who had a first-round bye, allowed Blake to get to the third round for only the second time in 10 tournaments this season, LA Times reported.

As an ATP World Tour 500 tournament, the Legg Mason Tennis Classic is one of the top 20 men’s tournaments in the world, offering 500 points for each champion towards ranking, more than $1.2 Million dollars in player compensation, and increased national & international exposure for sponsors.
