The very fact that this year the French Senate intends to discuss the issue on recognition of the Armenian Genocide of 1915 for the second time is a great success for Armenia, Hovaness Hovanessian, the chairman of Armenian parliamentary commission for foreign relations stated in his interview to Mediamax.
It is expected that on November 7 the French Senate will discuss the issue on recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
According to Hovanessian, this spring the French Senate has pulled out the issue on the Armenian Genocide from its agenda under the pressure of the executive bodies of the state. The deputy stressed that during his talks with some French senators the latter expressed their regret over this fact “admitting their fault in what had happened this spring.” -0-
