RUSSIAN SECURITY COUNCIL IS INTERESTED IN POSITION OF ARMENIAN PRESIDENT REGARDING TALIBS

12.10.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. Some interesting details of October 11 meeting among the heads of the member-states of the CIS Collective Security Agreement were disclosed today in the Russian Kommersant daily.
The daily writes that 15 minutes before the negotiations the Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergey Ivanov had a short conversation with the Armenian President Robert Kocharian during which “he expressed his interest over the position of the Armenian President regarding the problem with Talibs.”
There is no additional information about the talk the daily writes adding that as soon as the Russian President Putin took his place round the table Ivanov reported him about Kocharian’s position: Putin nodded his head with satisfaction,” Kommersant daily writes. –0–
