THE PRESIDENT OF ARMENIA AWARDED THE HEAD OF THE BIGGEST ARMENIAN LOBBY ORGANIZATION

07.10.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. Armenian President Robert Kocharian awarded orders and medals today to the representatives of the Armenian intelligentsia on the occasion of the 9th anniversary of the declaration of independence.
As was reported to MEDIAMAX in the press office of the president of the country, among others, Robert Kocharian awarded today the famous philanthropist, the head of the Armenian Assembly of America (AAA), Hrair Hovnanian by the Order of St. Mesrop Mashtotz.
Congratulating Mr. Hovnanian, the president noted that under his leadership the AAA carries out with the USA a powerful lobby activity, “aimed to defend the interests of Armenia and the Armenian nation”. Besides, Mr. Hovnanian is one of the most generous philanthropists helping Armenia, President Kocharian said. -0-
