Kodak released a new video camera the Playfull which is a pocketsize waterproof device with pop-out USB drive, enabling the taking of 720p HD video with integrated social media sharing.Playfull measures 2.16 by 3.7 by 0.5 inches (55 x 93.3 x 12 mm), at a weight of 85 grams and with a 2-inch LCD screen. It is waterproof up to 10 feet for two hours, with an underwater white balance mode that automatically color corrects the images. The design is also resistant to mud, dust, sand, and other harsh conditions, capable of being dropped from five feet (1.5 meter) without sustaining damage. Playfull also features 2X digital zoom.
“Three step sharing” permits data to be uploaded to e-mail, Facebook, YouTube, or other destinations by clicking “share” when reviewing photos and video, selecting the site of choice, and connecting the camera or memory card to a computer, where the files are automatically uploaded to the proper location.
The camera shoots in black-and-white-, sepia, high saturation, and “70's film” mode, which offers a muted and slightly grainy and green cast.
Playfull is available in fall 2011 for 100 USD in the US. It takes SD/SDHC cards of up to 32 GB, DesignBoom reported.
