10 candidates of Armenian descent claim places in the parliament of North Osetia-Alania. As reported by “Yerkramas” newspaper of the Armenians of the south of Russia, these are chief of “Dedal” firm base Givi Gabaraev, director general of Mozdok meat factory Rafik Vardanov, temporarily unemployed Ishkhan Galstian, temporarily unemployed Eduard Mkhitarov, legal adviser of “Vladikavkaz-Gazoapparat” public corporation Albert Shamilyants, pensioner Armen Avagian, driver of “Arman” Ltd. Rafik Avetisian, temporarily unemployed Karen Harutyunov, deputy director of “Hambo” municipal enterprise Vardan Hambartsumian, senior professor of the faculty of economy and management of North-Osetian State University Natalia Khosroeva. Elections are planned May 11, 2003.
