ACCEPTING ARMENIA AS EURASEC OBSERVER ACTIVATES ITS RELATIONS WITH RUSSIA AND COMMUNITY COUNTRIES

Accepting Armenia to the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) as a permanent observer will contribute to the promotion of the commercial and economic relations of the country both with Russia and other Community members. Armenian president Robert Kocharian said at a meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Dushanbe yesterday. As reported by Russian media, the main attention at the meeting was paid to discussion of practical issues of the commercial and economic cooperation between Russia and Armenia, including in the atomic energy field. The parties also exchanged views on bringing into effect agreements achieved in the course of R. Kocharian’s official visit to Moscow early this year. Let us note that Armenia was granted observer status April 27 at the sitting of the organization Interstate Council in Dushanbe.
