THE DEFENSE MINISTER OF ARMENIA HELD A MEETING IN WASHINGTON, D.C. WITH THE AMERICAN CO-CHAIRMAN OF THE OSCE MINSK GROUP

25.07.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The minister of defense of Armenia Serzh Sarkisian who is on a visit to the USA, held a number of meetings in the Ministry of Defense of the USA and State Department.
As was reported to MEDIAMAX in the embassy of Armenia in the USA, Sarkisian, in particular, met with the U.S. Special Negotiator for Nagorno Karabakh, ambassador Carey Cavanaugh and Deputy Coordinator for NIS Assistance, of the State Department, Ambassador Daniel Fried. The Armenian defense minister also held a number of meetings with top Pentagon officials.
During his meetings with U.S. officials, Minister Sarkisian discussed issues concerning bilateral relations, Armenia’s participation in NATO’s “Partnership for Peace” program, as well as the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement. -0-
