18.07.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. Armenia is not going to join the Russia-Belarus Union, about this declared the prime minister of Armenia Andranik Margarian in the interview to Belarus journalists on the threshold of his visit to Belarus on July 19.
According to the prime minister of Armenia, Yerevan can develop its relations with these countries within the CIS frameworks, where “the possibilities are far from being used thoroughly”.
“We think that in any country social organizations and movements, having their own purposes, can be set up, including those speaking with an initiative of Armenia’s joining to the Russia-Belarus union. Armenia is a democratic country and the members of the social organizations can propagandize their ideology freely”, declared the Armenian prime minister.
Margarian declared that Armenia positively assesses the creation of common customs space and the Agreement of Collective security of CIS in which Armenia participates. -0-
