ARMENIA HAS GREAT IMPORTANCE FOR IRAN, STATED IN YEREVAN THE DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER OF IRAN

14.07.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. Armenia has special importance for Iran, which is conditioned by the significant role of Armenia in the region.
As was informed to MEDIAMAX in the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the deputy foreign minister of Iran, Muhammad Hussein Adel stated this today at the meeting with the foreign minister of Armenia Vardan Oskanian.
The sides highly assessed the present stage of the mutual relations between Armenia and Iran and stressed the importance of their further development and improvement.
The main highlight of the discussion became the development perspectives of bilateral economic relations. In particular, the importance of the mutually profitable cooperation in the sphere of transit energy-carriers was stressed. The participants of the meeting also touched upon the perspectives of realizing export of the Iranian gas through Armenia and transit goods-transportation through Armenia and Iran. -0-
