9 AMERICAN STATES HAVE AFFIRMED THIS YEAR THE GENOCIDE OF ARMENIANS OF 1915

13.07.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. During 2000 nine more American states joined the growing list of those officially recognizing the Armenian Genocide of 1915, was informed to MEDIAMAX in the Armenian National Institute (ANI).
According to ANI’s latest figures, there are now 24 states on record that have recognized the Armenian Genocide, five of which – California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts – have also included the Genocide in their public school curricula.
“I have no doubt that this groundswell of support in state capitals across the country for official recognition of the Genocide of Armenians will ultimately drive the U.S. government to formally re-affirm its historical record of recognition”, said Robert A. Kaloosdian, Chairman of the Armenian National Institute’s Board of Governors.
