Georgian PM favors energy cooperation with Armenia

Armenia and Georgia signed an intergovernmental agreement comprising 19 cooperation prospects.

During the press conference Georgian Prime Minister Nikoloz Gilauri stressed the importance of cooperation with Armenia in energy sector.

“We envisage restoration of high-voltage transmission to ensure the safety of both countries,” Gilauri said.

Gerogian PM noted creation of a single base at border post as second underlying issue in bilateral relations. In this context, his Armenain counterpart stressed both countries’ intention to start modernization of three border posts in full compliance with European standards.

“The project will be implemented jointly with EU,” Tigran Sargsyan noted.
