Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II will not attend the meeting of CIS spiritual leaders to be held in Yerevan on November 29-30, a spokesman for Holy Etchmiadzin said.
According to Father Vahram Melikyan, the decision is explained by the fact that Georgia is not a Commonwealth member state.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan’s spiritual leader Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh will take part in the meeting, during which an agreement on several important issues is expected to be reached.
