The main accomplishment in Javakhk issues is the construction of the highway linking Javakhk with Georgian capital, head of Javakhk Union said.
Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) member Shirak Torosyan noted discussion of North-South program which stipulates connecting Yerevan with Batumi as another accomplishment aimed at benefiting Javakhk Armenians.
Mr. Torosyan further pointed out a range of oversights in the Javakhk issue, particularly regarding educational and socio-economic fields. In this context, he remembered that last year Armenian and Georgian Ministers of Education and Science agreed to resume Armenian language classes at Georgian schools, which, however, was never brought to fruition.
“Armenian schools in Javakhk turn into bilingual ones with classes held both in Georgian and Armenian,” Torosyan stated.
