GEORGIA HAS NO CHANCES FOR NATO ACCESSION IN NEAR FUTURE, ALLIANCE HEAD CONSIDERS

Georgia has no chances for accession to the NATO in the near future, said NATO secretary general George Robertson when addressing Nitze School of Advanced International Studies in Washington. In his words, Georgia’s urge to become a member of the Alliance is not based on that country’s capacities, “Mediamax” agency reported. “NATO membership implies much responsibility and strict demands are presented to all candidates. It is not a club of interests or a charitable organization,” Robertson said.
