ARMENIANS OF JAVAKHETIA CALLED STATEMENTS ON POSSIBLE USE OF RUSSIAN MILITARY BASES AGAINST GEORGIA PROVOCATION

The Council of Representatives of Armenian Organizations of Samtskhe-Javakhetia and Kvemo-Kartli regions of Georgia has made a statement on the words of “National Movement” opposition bloc leader Mikhail Sahakashvili that Russian military bases located in Armenia and Batumi Georgian town can be used against Georgia. It should be noted that Sahakashvili expressed concern over it when commenting on the visit of leader of the Adjarian Autonomy Aslan Abashidze to Yerevan. In his words, “Armenians of Javakhetia can hold an anti-state position.” The Council statement specifically noted that “Armenians of Samtskhe-Javakhetia did not give in to provocation even in the years of civil was and were always beside the state,” “A-Info” agency reported. “The stand of Armenians remains the same and Sahakashvili’s concern is more like a provocation,” the statement says.
