Armenia is an important and reliable partner of Germany in the South Caucasian region, German foreign minister Joschka Fischer said at a meeting with Armenian foreign ministry head Vardan Oskanian. As reported by the press service of the Armenian foreign ministry, being satisfied with the level of promotion of bilateral relations, the parties discussed the opportunities to develop them. Heads of the foreign departments also considered the prospects of settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and the issue of Armenia-Turkey relations, specifically, that of lifting the blockade of the Armenian-Turkish border. The parties as well discussed issues of Euro-integration of the countries of the region, particularly of Armenia. Vardan Oskanian invited Joschka Fischer to visit Armenia.
