Jean Dujardin has won the best-actor honor at the Screen Actors Guild Awards for the silent film The Artist, bringing the Hollywood newcomer a step closer to claiming an Academy Award Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Sunday, Jan 29, in Los Angeles, U.S.
The big-screen awards for supporting actor went to Christopher Plummer as an elderly dad who comes out as gay in Beginners and Octavia Spencer as a brassy maid in the Deep South drama The Help, AP reports.
The winners at the SAG ceremony typically go on to earn Oscars, whose ceremony is Feb 26.
