A member of Prosperous Armenia party denied any conflict with the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) coalition partners.
However, Vardan Bostanjyan admitted to certain tensions on the threshold of parliamentary elections. “There’s no deficit of trust here – everyone wants to win the race,” the MP told a news conference in Yerevan.
Commenting on the arrests of a number of Prosperous Armenia party members over illegal drug trafficking charges, Bostanjyan said the measure was aimed at boosting legality in the country. “Still, the violations described are not to be linked with Prosperous Armenia only, with members of other parties similarly guilty of breaking laws,” the MP said.
