UES OF RUSSIA WISHING TO PURCHASE ARMENIAN ELECTRIC POWER STATIONS

UES of Russia energy company is holding consultations for purchasing and obtaining permissions for the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant, Razdan Heat Power Plant as well as five Hydroelectric Power Stations of the Sevan-Razdan cascade in Armenia, company head Anatoli Chubays told journalists today. In his words, according to ITAR-TASS agency, UES of Russia also intend to buy Inguri Hydroelectric Power Station which is the biggest in Georgia, as well as a number of cascade stations located Inguri down-stream. Russian Joint Stock Company intends “to make serious investments in Armenian energy system to provide energy supply to Georgia”, – A. Chubays said. He is to visit Armenia till the end of the year “to settle all the questions”.
