RAO UES of Russia energy company, the subsidiary of which being Inter RAO UES will henceforth manage Armenian NPP, is going to involve Armenia in the united energy net of the post-soviet states, as RAO UES administration vice chairman Andrey Rappoport stated in Yerevan. In his words, Armenian potential of electric power export is rather high and “should be used in an efficient way”. Beginning from next week RAO UES of Russia will export electric power from Armenia to Georgia. According to Rappoport, the company will purchase natural gas from Armrosgasprom and having processed it at the Razdan Heat Power Plant, will export the electrical energy to Georgia. The Russian power engineering specialist did not rule out the possibility of exporting Armenian electrical energy to Turkey.
