The World Bank (WB) delegation headed by country director for the South Caucasus Donna Dowsett-Coirolo will arrive in Armenia September 15. According to a report by the WB Yerevan office, the current strategic program of cooperation of the bank with Armenia will be completed in June 2004, thus the main purpose of the visit is to hold negotiations with the government on further strategy of cooperation. At present the WB is working out two programs in the sphere of health and education in Armenia. Programs of water supply of Yerevan and reconstruction of power transmission lines are provided for in the future. The WB delegation will assess these programs. Within the period of cooperation with Armenia the World Bank has funded 30 programs totaling $737 million.
