MAIN AIR TRANSPORTATION IN ARMENIA TO BE PASSED TO SIBERIA COMPANY MONDAY

One of the largest air companies of Armenia – Armenian Airlines – ceases operation beginning from April 15. The main cause is the company debt of $20 million. Henceforth most flights from Armenia will be executed by Armavia company, 70% of shares of which are held by Siberia Russian air carrier. In the words of Siberia commercial director Mushegh Sayadian, the company will already launch flights in 17 directions beginning from April 15. At the same time Siberia pledged to increase the transportation volume and renew plane fleet, as well as to assist Armavia in rectifying the financial condition by assigning means for payment of $15 million for route exploitation.
