The government of Armenia decided during the February 16 session to establish a landscape award in line with the European Landscape Convention.
The Minister of Urban Development of Armenia Vardan Vardanyan said the local self-government bodies and non-governmental organizations can bid for the award.
Best projects on landscape protection and planning will be awarded a prize, certificate and statuette.
Armenia joined the European Landscape Convention in March 2004; in November 2011 the National Landscape Policy Strategy of the Republic of Armenia was approved.
