The inauguration ceremony of Armenian president Robert Kocharian elected for the second term was held in the Government building today. Over 80 deputies, Armenian government members, foreign ambassadors, many guests were present at the measure. “Assuming the office of the president I swear to unconditionally fulfill Constitutional requirements, respect human rights and freedoms, provide for the independence, territorial integrity and security of Armenia for the welfare of the people,” – R. Kocharian stated when swearing to a VII century Bible and the Constitution. The president expressed gratitude to the people for the active participation in the election and the vote of confidence provided for him. He assured he would report to the people in five years while fulfilling their hopes and high confidence.
