Death of the Armenian soldier had no political implication, Armenian political analyst Sergey Minasyan said.
Azerbaijan has recently suspended the policy of escalating tension at the contact line between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan, as well as in relations with Armenia, Minasyan told a press conference in Yerevan on February 27.
He noted that this is particularly evident after the meeting of presidents in Sochi.
At a trilateral meeting with the Russian President in Sochi on January 23 Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev recognized the need to abandon extreme positions and expressed readiness to continue efforts on rapprochement of their positions.
Earlier, Armenian Defense Ministry press secretary commented on the death of Armenian soldier Albert Adibekyan in Azeri sniper attack on February 23.
“Azeri provocation, which left an Armenian soldier dead, will be retaliated, with the commandment of Azeri armed forces to be held responsible for its actions,” David Karapetyan said.
