Former speaker prefers individual visit to Syunik, paper says

Relations between National Assembly former speaker Hovik Abrahamyan and Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan tend to have an interesting development, Zhoghovurd paper reports.

According to the paper, PM Sargsyan left for Syunik province on March 3 to discuss the election program of the Republican Party of Armenia. Head of RPA election office, Abrahamyan, is also going to Syunik on March 6.

One can only guess why he didn’t join the PM preferring to go and meet Syunik governor Suren Khachatryan independently. However, member of RPA parliamentary group Hovhannes Sahakyan told the paper’s reporter there is nothing special in this. “Syunik is one of our provinces, visits take place regularly, and there’s nothing surprising in it,” he said.
